Based on the decision of the Scientific Council as of May 26, 2022, N 34/22 of the National Polytechnic University of Armenia (hereinafter, the University) and order N 01-11/339 as of 21.06.2022 of the University Rector, the “Regulation for provision of intra-university scientific grants” (hereinafter, the Regulation), the University announces intra-university scientific grant competition (hereinafter, Competition) on “Innovative research targeting the acquisition of applied results”.

Participation applications for the competition should address both the priorities of Armenia and scientific and innovation priorities of the University and modern trends of science development.

Applications should target the acquisitions of applied results with the perspective of their installation, commercialization and production. The application should be filled in according to the attached format. It should not repeat already carried out or currently being carried out research programs in its content area.

Research team participating in the grant competition should consist of 3-5 members studying or working at the university, minimum one young specialist (student, post-graduate, and up to 35 year old young scientist). The team should also have a leader who can represent the group. Team members (including the supervisor) cannot be included in more than one application for the competition.

To participate in the competition, team leader till September 9, 2022 in the following link https://innovative.polytechnic.am/hy/NPUA-Research/2022/07/12/Applied/13  should present their participation application (form is attached).  Competition jury will be formed by the order of University rector to study competition applications and finalize the competition results (half of them should be experienced professionals from other organizations). The Jury will evaluate applications in accordance with criteria defined by the Statute, taking into account obtained results inclusion, and commercialization opportunities.

The process of intra-university grant researches will be monitored, analyzed and assessed by respective subdivision of the University, assigned by University rector. In case of unsatisfactory current results, funding of that grant project can be stopped before the end of the deadline by the order of University Rector.

At the end of the grant program, the research team presents their report on research done, its obtained applicable results and their installation perspectives, necessary financial and material means, addressing the forecast time period (if not still installed). Research results should be published in scientific journals, reported at conferences, innovations should be done, patents of useful samples to be obtained.

Copyright and intellectual property issues concerning the results of the grant program will be regulated by the Legislation of the Republic of Armenia.

Program content and information about experiments in the process of application discussions are not provided to other parties.

Implementation period of the intra-university grant program is maximum 18 months.

Applications not in line with the requirements of the competition will not be considered by the Competition Commission.
