Issues to improve quality of education at NPUA College were discussed

Vice-rector for NPUA pre-university education Elbak Elbakyan had a meeting with the administrative staff of the College.

The aim of the meeting was to acquaint them with the changes in university policy, reveal the current gaps in the educational process of the College, problems and actions to take in the educational sphere and offer solutions.

In the sphere of vocational education, Polytechnic College has a high rating as a technological institution where everything is carried out to provide education in line with current demands and on high quality level as well as works in that direction are ongoing.

The coordinating vice-rector in the beginning of the meeting spoke about increase of salaries of administrative staff of the College and hoped that venerable salary will be a motivation for them.

  1. Elbakyan addressed the next question such as the relocation and joining of College building that makes coordination and management works more difficult.

The joining is not the end aim as new laboratories will exist specially for the College and the organization of the teaching process will become easier and more effective.

It can also become attractive as all the materials and technological base of the Polytechnic University will be available for College students as well.

The students can effectively use any laboratory of the university, and professional block will organize its laboratory training and lessons in university area.

Vice-rector informed that from September 1 educational process of College will be implemented in Teryan 105 starting from general education block.

  1. Elbakyan also addressed the question of internship organization. Internship opportunities continue to play an important role in career preparation of the students, allow the students to apply everything learnt in the classroom in professional environment and expand their knowledge. Therefore, cooperation with different companies should be expanded as the vice-rector mentioned resulting in the improvement of internship quality.

Employers and private companies will allocate exact places for each year. We also aim to attract new lecturers by means of private companies, to prepare more demanded specialists in line with current labor market requirements by doing some slight changes in study programs and curricula.

  1. Elbakyan pointed out that the lecturer is the creator of the main value in the classroom so we should put all our efforts to attract high quality specialists in professional sphere and necessary skills in pedagogics.

Experienced lecturers of the Polytechnic University teach at the college and students obtain highly professional qualification thanks to them.

Elbakyan also spoke about the two newly-established chairs in humanitarian and natural sciences sphere that will enable the college to fully organize the schedule for the general education block through modernizing activities. Questions on the inclusion of new specialties in engineering and information technology corresponding to labor market needs were discussed.

NPUA College provides an excellent environment of specialized education with its modern workshops and laboratories.

We plan to establish new laboratories of Physics, Chemistry, Robotics and Computer Science.

The vice-rector also addressed the cultural event organization at the College, visits to schools, advertising and other adjacent questions. He pointed out that the aim of all the events is the establishment of high quality education and strong study system.

In the end of the meeting, vice-rector pointed out that the College is one of the most important chains of the university and such meetings will be held more often. He also hoped that the questions discussed will become the yardstick to further improve the situation and solve the problem.
