Tigran Avinyan was elected the Chairman of NPUA Board of Trustees

The first session in the new composition of the Board of Trustees of “National Polytechnic University of Armenia” foundation was held on January 21, 2022. RA NAS academician, the oldest member of the Board Yuri Sargsyan, had an opening speech. After welcoming those present and congratulating colleagues for becoming members of the Board of Trustees, Yuri Sargsyan introduced the first item on the agenda – the election of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

Member of the Board of Trustees, head of Chair of Physics of the Polytechnic University, Doctor of Physico-mathematical science, Professor Ashot Khachatryan, nominated the candidacy of Tigran Avinyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Armenian National Interests Fund” CJSC, former Deputy Prime Minister, for the position of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees that was followed by speeches of the members. Deputy Chief of RA Prime Minister’s Staff Zaruhi Matevosyan and Doctor of technical science, associate professor at the Chair of Electronic Measurement Systems and Metrology Karlen Begoyan supported his candidacy for the position. After speeches of the members, an election was held and Tigran Avinyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Armenian National Interests Fund” CJSC was unanimously elected as the Chairman of NPUA Board of Trustees.

We should highlight that on December 27, 2021, by decree of RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the new composition of the Board of Trustees of “National Polytechnic University of Armenia” foundation was ratified.

 

TIGRAN AVINYAN

Chairman of NPUA Board of Trustees

Tigran Avinyan was appointed RA Deputy Prime Minister from May 11, 2018 up to August 2, 2021.

  1. Avinyan worked at Armenian Development Bank as a Senior Loan Officer at Commercial Lending Department. He established and managed “Irrigate” landscape design and irrigation systems Company. T. Avinyan worked at “Shirak Technologies” company as SAP Consultant, implemented digitization programs for the company “Contour Global” (Vorotan Complex of Hydroelectric Power Plants).

He was CEO of Cyber Vision Development Studio dealing with software development. T. Avinyan was member of Yerevan City Council from “Yelq” Faction.

T.Avinyan graduated from Armenian-Russian (Slavonic) University, faculty of Applied Mathematics and Informatics, with bachelor’s degree award. Afterwards, he graduated from the same university, in the sphere of Mathematical Modeling in Economics, with master’s degree award. He graduated from Queen Mary University of London with distinction, getting Master of Science in Finance.

On January 21, 2022, he was elected as the Chairman of NPUA Board of Trustees.
