The Sports Games ASUE “Academic Cup-2018” was finalized on February 8 by the awards ceremony. The annual events organized by the chair of Physical Education, Emergency Situations and Civil Defense of ASUE took place from January 29 to February 8.
More than 250 lecturers from 13 universities of Armenia participated in it. ASUE, YSU, YSMU, YSPU, ANAU, YBSULSC, AUA, UFAR, ASIPCS teams of lecturers participated in the Cup and competed in shooting, table tennis, chess, volleyball within the frames of the Games. Hovhannes Gabriyelyan held his opening speech highlighting that 5 years in a row the inter-university games “Academic Cup” are held. Head of the chair finalized this year’s event and pointed out that all the championships were held in highly competitive atmosphere. For the assistance of these games, he specially expressed his gratitude to the Volleyball Federation of Armenia, Yerevan State University, Armenian National Agrarian University as well as ASUE Rector Koryun Atoyan for the assistance of the initiative. The rector awarded the prize winners together with the guests.
NPUA head of the chair of Physical Education and Sport A.A. Ghochikyan also actively participated in the competitions from all types of sports.
YSU has won the first place in shooting, second place – YSMU and 3rd place – NPUA team. Lecturers of the chair of Physical Education and Sport Meri Sahakyan, Hakob Dashyan, Arthur Manukyan presented our university team.
YSPU, NPUA were prize-winners from table tennis. Lecturers of the chair of Physical Education and Sport Levon Tovmasyan, Meri Sahakyan and Arkadi Durinyan, the head of “NPUA Museum- Cultural Center” were in NPUA team.
NPUA had the fourth place in chess.
The winners of 1st, 2nd and 3rd places were awarded with cups, certificates of honor as well as special prizes from ASUE leadership.
ASUE Rector Koryun Atoyan, head of the chair of Physical Education, Emergency Situations and Civil Defense of ASUE Hovhannes Gabriyelyan, vice-president of Student Sports Federation of Armenia Razmik Stepanyan, chief secretary of Volleyball Sports Federation of Armenia Karen Asmaryan, lecturers, students and journalists were present at the awards ceremony.
