Position Specialist (sociologist)

Job description 

 The University is looking for the sociologist to develop and analyze the qualitative and quantitative data of the sectorial activities of the institution as well as its results.

 

Main responsibilities

• Design and compliance of innovative research projects with the university,
• Creation, data design and result summary of social questionnaires necessary for analytical and research works,
• Implementation of intra-university social questionnaires, result design, analysis and summary,
• Implementation of sociological research of current activities of the university,
• Data collection via questionnaires, observations, interviews and other sources,
• Analysis of the collected data via the application of respective toolkit,
• Preparation of conclusions, reports, papers and presentation of detailed research results,
• Provision of cooperation and consultation on research results and sociological problems, while working with other teams,
• Collection of qualitative and quantitative data, analysis on the basis of NPUA quality assurance policy,
• Implementation of topical and systematic researches, design of the questionnaire, review of current questionnaires if necessary,
• Design of questionnaires of focus groups and online researches,
• Participation in the meetings of focus groups,
• Close cooperation with program supervisor, administrative assistant, focus group discussions of the program,
• Final report, design of reports and suggestions.

 

Necessary qualification and skills

• Higher education in sociology, master’s degree is desirable.
• Practical sociological knowledge, ability to carry out qualitative and quantitative analyses.
• Ability to work with questionnaires of sociological and marketing research.
• Excellent knowledge of Armenian, good knowledge of English is compulsory, and knowledge of other foreign languages is an advantage.
• Minimum three years of professional work experience.
• Ability to work in Google Forms, Excel, skills to design graphs and diagrams.
• Dedication, responsibility, willingness to work with the team.
• Logical reasoning, ability to orientate in different situations.
• Skills to organize, to plan and prioritize the works, discipline and high sense of responsibility.
• Excellent communication skills, an active personality.
