Sargis Armen Asatryants was born in Yerevan on December 6, 1984.
EDUCATION:
From 2001 up to 2006 he studied at Armenian State University of Economics, Department of Management, and was awarded a 5-year diploma (MA equivalent) in State and Municipal Management. His thesis topic was “Mass Media as a 4th Government” and was supervised by Dr. Narek Melkonyan.
From 2006 up to 2009 he studied at Armenian State University of Economics in the field of Economy, economics of its branches and management, and was awarded a PhD (Candidate of Sciences) in Economics. He defended his dissertation on June 18, 2009, with the topic “Main issues of management and state regulations of mass media in Republic of Armenia,” supervised by Dr. Yuri Suvaryan. The degree was awarded by the Supreme Committee of Attestation and Accreditation, Yerevan, through the Armenian State University of Economics.
From 2010 up to 2011 he studied at the Yerevan School of Political Studies of the Council of Europe and was awarded a diploma for the whole course of Political Sciences.
From 2019 up to present he is a doctoral candidate at the Armenian State University of Economics in the field of Economy, economics of its spheres and management. His doctoral dissertation topic is “Main issues of financing of higher education in the context of economic growth (Case of Armenia).”
WORK EXPERIENCE:
From January 3, 2007 up to February 2, 2009 he was a General Manager Assistant at “Partner” LLC, the official distributor for Johnson & Johnson Cilag GmbH International, Eureka Hellas S.A., Hellenica S.A., Sisama S.p.A., Tetley tea, Sara Lee, and LifeScan glucometers in RA.
From February 2, 2009 up to February 1, 2015 he was a Business Development Manager at “Partner” LLC, the official distributor for SC Johnson, Johnson & Johnson Cilag GmbH International, Eureka Hellas S.A., Hellenica S.A., Sisama S.p.A., Rusalochka LLC, Tetley tea, and LifeScan glucometers in RA.
From September 1, 2009 up to August 31, 2016 he was a lecturer at the Armenian State University of Economics, Department of Management, teaching Fundamentals of Management, Corporate Governance, Economics and Management, Conflict Management, Management Theory, and Business Communication and Culture, all delivered in English.
From January 12, 2015 up to February 1, 2016 he was the General Manager of the Directorate of the Armenian Genocide Centennial Events at “Hayastan” All-Armenian Fund.
From January 12, 2015 up to July 31, 2015 he was a tutor/mentor at the British School of Business of Armenia, part of the London School of Commerce (LSC) Group of Colleges (UK), teaching Marketing Management, Managing Human Capital, and Entrepreneurship, all delivered in English.
From January 1, 2015 up to December 31, 2015 he was a researcher for the State Committee of Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the RA, working on a research project on “Maintenance and development of infrastructure of scientific-scientific-technical activity” and the impact of science and education on economic and social development.
From May 17, 2012 up to May 23, 2013 he was an expert in the Development of the Mission & Processes for Armenian State University of Economics, within the “Creating and Consolidating the National Quality Assurance System” Grant.
From January 12, 2013 up to December 31, 2014 he was a researcher at AMBERD Research Centre, working on the socio-economic research project “Priorities of State and Local Government Reforms in the RA” and “Perspectives of Armenian State and Local Governance Reforms at the Current Stage.”
From September 1, 2016 up to present he is an associate professor at the Armenian State University of Economics, Department of Management.
From January 1, 2016 up to December 31, 2016 he was a researcher for the State Committee of Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the RA, working on a research project on “Priorities and structures of intensification of the impact of science and education on the economic and social development of the Republic of Armenia.”
From December 19, 2016 up to December 18, 2018 he was a researcher for the State Committee of Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of RA, Young Researcher’s Research Support Program “The impact of territorial-administrative reforms on the efficiency of Armenian local self-government system” Socio-Economic Research Project (Project #16YR-5B056).
From January 1, 2017 up to May 30, 2021 he was a researcher for the State Committee of Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the RA, working on the research project “Priorities for increasing the efficiency of public administration in the Republic of Armenia.”
From June 1, 2021 up to November 30, 2021 he was a researcher at AMBERD Research Center, working on the socio-economic research project “Development of conceptual approaches to socio-economic development of border communities of the RA,” commissioned by the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the RA.
From August 2, 2021 up to present he is the Vice-Rector responsible for internalization and reforms at the National Polytechnic University of Armenia.
SCIENTIFIC EXPERIENCE:
From 2012 up to now he authored numerous scientific works including articles and monographs.
PUBLIC ACTIVITY:
From February 2011 up to December 2019 he was a member of the Armenian National Students’ Association, serving as Vice Chairperson from January 2014 to December 2019, International Relations Officer from February 2012 to December 2013, and Head of Public Relations Committee from February 2011 to January 2012.

Recipient of various academic and professional awards.
PROFESSIONAL TRAININGS:
In 2010 he completed a training course for ASUE lecturers at the Armenian State University of Economics, Yerevan, RA.
In 2014 he completed a two-stage course on “Development and Improvement of Professional Quality Assurance Systems” conducted by the National Center for Professional Education Quality Assurance, Yerevan, RA.
In 2019 he completed the “Creative Spark” Higher Education Entrepreneurship “Entrepreneurship Skills-Pedagogy” course conducted by the British Council, Yerevan, RA.
In 2023 “International Baccalaureate Organization” – IB Professional Development workshop “Business Management (cat. 1), Diploma Program”.
