Institute of Energetics and Electrical Engineering of National polytechnic university of Armenia (NPUA) was established by the decree of August 28, 2015 of the university Scientific Council, arising from the modern day necessity to implement an enlargement process of the educational structures of the university, targeting the formation of a powerful scientific and educational unit by the merging of the faculty of Energetics and Electrical engineering faculty, while forming a new educational structural department named as “Institute of Energetics and Electrical Engineering” (IEEE).

The Board of Trustees of the university by its 24.10.2015 number 10/15-02 decree approved the decree of the Scientific Council of the university, determining the start of institute operations from 2016, February 1.

Institute of Energetics and Electrical Engineering encompasses the following 5 specialized chairs and 1 unit, namely:

Thermal energetics and environmental protection (TEEP),

Electrical Energetics (EE),

Electrical machines and devices (EMD),

Electrical engineering and electrification (EEE),

Economics and management of the energy sector (EMES),

Unit of biosecurity of nature protection (UBNP).
