The Polytechnic University participated in the workshop of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in Georgia

At the National Polytechnic University of Armenia, there are many students who have studied and are still studying in foreign universities. Concerning this, the university cooperates with a number of foreign universities it has student exchange agreements signed.

The only engineering university in Armenia actively cooperates with international educational organizations operating in Armenia, including the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) that provide opportunities for Armenian students to continue their studies in foreign universities as well as make short-term study visits to foreign universities, and for professors – to conduct research or get training abroad as well as to carry out inter-university programs aimed at the development of education.

The regular meeting of the Polytechnic University and the DAAD office was in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, during the workshop on “Development of Internationalization Strategy in Caucasian Countries”. Among a number of universities from other countries of the region, the Polytechnic University also participated in the conference. The university was presented by Lida Aghajanyan, chief specialist of the Internationalization and External Relations Department of NPUA.

There were group discussions two days in a row on topics related to the internationalization of learning and teaching, research, and language policy. As a result of group discussions, frameworks were developed for the regulation of language barriers, through the development of internationalization strategies, sustainable development, and the study of best practices for the exchange of experience. Relations and new connections with different universities of a number of countries were established.

Gebhard Reul, director of the Tbilisi regional office of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), presented programs aimed at the internationalization of universities, as well as the expansion of cooperation between universities. During the meeting, scholarship programs offered by DAAD and study opportunities at German universities, as well as the procedure to apply for the scholarship programs have been introduced as well.
