Polytechnic University has new achievements: 16 Gold Medals from XPC powerlifting World Cup

“One should not only get educated, study science and art for the beauty and health but also do physical activities and gymnastics”: this idea developed by Plato is a yardstick for the Polytechnic University.

The team of power triathlon of Armenia headed by the President of the Federation, coach of the team, Associate Professor at NPUA Chair of Physical Education and Sport Gagik Saroyan, took part in XPC powerlifting World Cup Games in Poland. They have won 16 Gold Medals as a result of the games. 18 sportsmen were in the team: adolescents, youth and adults.

The team of Armenia has taken the first place.

About 600 sportsmen from 15 countries took part in the World Cup Games. Gagik Saroyan has also taken the first place among veterans.

Armenian sportsmen are among the strongest in this sport type and they often dictate the course of the competition and have excellent victories for their fans. Armenian sportsmen Ashot Petrosyan and Ara Khachatyan had had records during these World Cup Games. Among adults, Ara Khachatryan from Gyumri (90kg) has become an exclusive winner of the World Cup and was awarded the Gold Medal. Ashot Petrosyan (90kg) was recognized the winner among adolescents.

Such victories are not an easy path. “Our sportsmen have spent a year and exercised extremely seriously and hard that resulted in their victories” – Gagik Saroyan pointed out.

The President of the Federation of power triathlon of Armenia considers the unification of our team as the main prerequisite of these victories. He assured that our sportsmen will also have successes in the future and they work hard in that direction.
