The new academic year, the Day of Knowledge just as previously was celebrated at the Polytechnic University by celebratory events. The only engineering University of Armenia has welcomed the students that have chosen the difficult and honorable profession of engineers. The celebratory event held at the yard of NPUA 5th building has gathered university leadership, academic staff, students and their parents. During the event, Rector Gor Vardanyan congratulated the Polytechnic University members and spoke to freshmen wishing them to get familiar with the Polytechnic University and its rich history from the first day. They should identify all the nuances to obtain knowledge, get high quality education, have new friends, skills that will encourage and motivate them in the future.
“The Polytechnic University enriched itself with High School schoolchildren, students of the College and the university on September 1, 2022 and this wealth has its unique place in the history of our university. History of the Polytechnic University should be highlighted by your success as the generator of the technological thought and the result of our joint work should make the crossing of Koryun and Teryan streets of Yerevan as the focal point for the generation of the technological thought. Your participation, formation of problems and assistance will improve the quality of education” – Rector Gor Vardanyan pointed out.
The rector highlighted the importance to be progressive so that the Polytechnic University will have more success in the future. He pointed out that the freshmen are a part of the Polytechnic family and have an important and core role in that family.
NPUA vice Rector for Education Marinka Baghdasaryan has also welcomed the freshmen. “I welcome and congratulate you for becoming students of the National Polytechnic University of Armenia. I also congratulate your parents as their role in your choice was great. Attaching importance to all professions, I really welcome your choice of the technological education and the future of the world as the future of Armenia, greatly depends on technologies. The academic staff of the Polytechnic University is ready to contribute its potential to provide new knowledge and competence but you should be willing to gain that knowledge”.
The vice-rector encouraged them to gain knowledge every day as the biggest capital is the knowledge.
Vice-rector for Science Areg Grigoryan has also congratulated the Day of Knowledge and pointed out that they should wait for interesting life at the technological university: “We will guide you and be next to you and in case of necessity will support you but you should move forward and overcome difficulties”.
Vice-rector for Internationalization and Reforms Sargis Asatryants pointed out that the world is not the one it used to be and will not be the one it is nowadays. Changes in socio-economic, political, humanitarian, educational and other spheres of the human life are continuous and dynamic.
“Availability of educational systems, diversity of information systems enables you to get any information from any part of the world. Therefore, logics of the lecturer and educator also changes as we should currently accept the student-centered approach and the National Polytechnic University of Armenia is its promoter”.
The vice-rector highlighted the importance of the students in the “solar system” of the university and all the others revolve around them. Sargis Asatryants encouraged them to be demanding towards high quality education and be consistent in the education provided.
Different pavilions were mounted in the yard of the university about all the institutes of the university so that they can obtain any information about the university.
Many events will be organized at the Polytechnic University during autumn. Open lectures will be conducted by specialists of the spheres for the students next week.
