The National Polytechnic University of Armenia was included in the works of the international conference on Maintenance of Sevan Lake eco system and sustainable development together with local as well as international organizations.
The Polytechnic University participated with poster presentation where the cleaning system of Gavaraget waters developed by the Institute of Mining and Chemical Technology was introduced. According to the author of this work, Professor of the Institute Artashes Tadevosyan, this solution to clean the waters entering Sevan Lake can prevent the process of the lake “becoming green”.
The conference united different research groups and specialists, including Minister of Environment of the RA Hakob Simidyan, Head of Operations of the Delegation of the EU to Armenia Frank Hess, Deputy Ministers of the Environment Aram Meymaryan and Gayane Gabrielyan, Deputy Governor of Gegharkunik Vahan Zaroyan, international experts Martin Shulz and Karsten Rinken, representatives from Helmonts Environmental Research Center, program head of EU4Sevan program Christian Henshel, as well as representatives from Water Committee, Sevan National Park, EU4Environment program, RA NAS Eco center, Scientific Center of Zoology and Hydro-ecology, NGOs of Gegharkunik province and core representatives of the sphere.
