“Get constantly educated, be rebellious and stubborn”: The message of the Chairman of NPUA Board of Trustees Tigran Avinyan at the graduation event of the 89th graduates of the Polytechnic University

“Honorable Prime Minister, dear Ministers, members of NPUA Board of Trustees, dear Rector, dear representatives of the academic staff, and dear students

I am not a graduate of the Polytechnic University. I entered Armenian-Russian University in 2005, Faculty of Applied Mathematics, but I spent the admission year inside these walls studying physics and mathematics. Therefore, the Polytechnic University had its huge contribution in my future, thanks to the efforts of the professors. Members of my family, my father, my grandparents, their brothers are also graduates of the Polytechnic University. The honorable Yuri Avinyan has long lectured at the Polytechnic University and I am sure that many will remember him. Therefore, I am strongly connected with the Polytechnic University.

The Polytechnic University was established in 1933, with only two faculties and 107 students. During the years, in line with the development of Armenia, its industrialization process, its role was also strengthened thus becoming the biggest university of Armenia, having 25000 students in the 1980s and more than 66 specialties. The university was considered the best place to get engineering education. The Polytechnic University currently continues its traditions with the best specialists to be employed by the labor market.

I would like to congratulate you, graduates of 2022 on the occasion of achieving one of the most important stages of your life. I congratulate your parents, lecturers and everybody close to you during these years.

Dear graduates, you have chosen specializations that are currently demanded in the labor market. I am sure that the university has prepared you and provided you with the knowledge that will help you become the leading specialists, be important for your country and people.

Nevertheless, I would like to ask and encourage you not to stop on the knowledge acquired at the university. Remember that you can always learn more and achieve more. Get constantly educated, be rebellious and stubborn. No hardships in life should become an impediment for you to achieve your goals, so that they can make you stronger to overcome all the difficulties yet to come.

We are in the process of deep changes at the Polytechnic University. I promise that when your children choose to study at the Polytechnic University as the Higher Educational Institution, they will enter the best technological university not only of Armenia but of the region and will get education in line with the international highest criteria. This is our vision of the Polytechnic University and I truly believe in this idea and the future. I hope that members of the Board of Trustees also share my ideas.

I congratulate you and wish you success in all your endeavors and initiatives”.
