“Python” course as new career start: 800 new programmers in the labor market

The Polytechnic University carried out the first and second level training courses of “Python” programming language being co-financed by the Ministry of High Tech Industry. About 820 participants have completed the online course. After the final exams, the chief secretary of the Ministry, NPUA Rector and Director of Continuing Education and Teacher Training Center have given the final certificates.

The chief secretary of the Ministry of High Tech Industry Narek Melkumyan specifically attached importance to the role of the Polytechnic University in the development of the technological sphere.

“Future specialists of this sphere are educated here so requirements towards the university are high and abundant.  Study programs are in line with time and most importantly applicable. I am delighted that the university actively cooperates with the Ministry of High Tech Industry. The successful implementation of this program is a good example of such cooperation” – Narek Melkumyan pointed out.

21st century is the era of new technologies. The acquisition of technological specialties and skills open new opportunities and horizons for the specialists to enter the labor market of this sphere. There is a huge demand for specialists with the knowledge of “Python” programming language in state and private sector. It is largely applied in all engineering directions. According to the observation of NPUA Rector Gor Vardanyan, the program enabled specialists of different spheres to fill the vacant positions without age limits.

“The Polytechnic is a traditional engineering HEI and it involves the whole range of engineering specialties. We have some ambitious plans to participate in competitions in the spheres of cyber security, block chain systems and artificial intelligence. The Continuing Education and Teacher Training Center of NPUA had its main issue to include representatives of the private sector in training processes, bring them to the university, and include them in educational processes as well. We managed to carry out the “Python” program with the representatives of university academia and leading private sector organizations as well as to strengthen our relations with all the parties involved. This confidence towards the Polytechnic University will impact the study process and its more efficient organization. NPUA carries out acceptance and teaching of artificial intelligence in bachelor’s and master’s degree programs” – NPUA Rector told during the event.

The Continuing Education and Teacher Training Center provided the implementation of six-month long program. For the provision of engineering and technological education Arthur Zaprosyan attaches importance to university programs that are in line with modern requirements. The Center functioning from 2010 onwards, has implemented more than 300 courses in technological sphere thus training about 6000 students. Python is not only a programming language but is a tool as well to be used in machine learning and artificial intelligence.

The program was carried out within the frames of cooperation of university-private sector. It will be ongoing without age limits.
