I am Milena and my address is the Polytechnic University, more precise – High School

“My mother and grandparents studied at the Polytechnic University. I always heard about the education of this university and about the opportunities of becoming an excellent specialist here”.

The dialogue with Milena was an immediate success, without any preparations. President of the School Council of the High School is graduating this year and will continue to deepen her professional skills at the same area, National Polytechnic University of Armenia. The environment assisted her to become brave and independent where the director, deputy director, teachers are all friends of schoolchildren.

“I have heard about the Polytechnic University a lot, but not about its High School. My schoolmate was going to apply for High School and presented it so vividly, presented many goals connected with this school and I tried to understand where the reality starts and ends. I also came, came and stayed here” – Milena honestly tells us.

She has come to NPUA High School preparation courses of mathematics and physics and decided to clarify the essential thing – she should be one of the people having engineering specialties.

Chairman of the School Council Milena Tovmasyan was enrolled in the subgroup of physics and mathematics. She confesses that the preparation course has given more than knowledge obtained at school.

“My impressions before coming here were different as everything in the previous school was usual – just traditional lessons and that was all. More than that, schoolchildren and teachers never had a dialogue as all the students want to express themselves. Here everything is on the contrary. The classroom is full of free and kind schoolchildren where there is no mine or yours as we have something common. We are not ashamed to study as everybody loves studying. The environment surprised me and the reason was that every day there was something new, group thinking and more importantly, we have a joint and tangible success” – Milena remembers in retrospective.

Milena’s circle of friends told her that math and physics are “dying” subjects. Now she is sure as the High School environment proved that natural science subjects are the basis of all the specialties.

Independent of her will power, she was involved in many works on voluntary basis. She wanted to do something as a small gratitude to the school.

Milena will continue her education at NPUA, specialty Information Technology.

“Now more than ever before I am certain to tell that I am a real Polytechnic member. Engineering education is my future. It has been three years since my studies here and I saw days full of unexplainable energy of schoolchildren. It is a real student corner in the heart of Yerevan. We often visit library and see how students study. I have never seen any student that did not study. I will be a member of the Student Council at the university as well and will participate in making the student life more active. Here, teachers and lecturers are our friends and this is a huge achievement” – Milena smiles while talking.
