Scholarship after the name of the of blessed memory graduate of the Polytechnic University and benefactor Harutyun Gelejyan aims to encourage the development of intellectual potential of the students, to increase the interest towards the educational and scientific activities.  30 students with high academic performance received the scholarships at the Rector’s Office session hall. While giving scholarship certificates, Rector of the Polytechnic University Gor Vardanyan assured that every well performing student is encouraged. This is the way to show the students that their academic performance and works are visible. Rector Gor Vardanyan pointed out: “The awarding of this type of scholarship is both honorable and obligatory. Each scholarship holder should have huge professional successes, be known in their work sphere and create good a part of which should be returned to their Alma Mater in the future as was done by Harutyun Gelejyan”.

The scholarship of Harutyun Gelejyan was founded in 2016, on the initiative of Gelejyan. The benefactor is the graduate of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Polytechnic University. He received his professional education as an engineer-mechanic. In 1981 he moved to the USA with his family and during 20 years of diligent work and thanks to his talent, he has become the leading engineer of one of the famous corporations in the States.

The main source of this scholarship is 100000 US dollars donated by H. Gelejyan to NPUA deposited in the bank and received interest payments. The benefactor also expressed his wish that bachelor’s, master’s full-time students majoring “Machine building and Materials Design” at Vanadzor branch can also get the scholarship.
