3D printers assembled by Polytechnic students were donated to NPUA high school and college

On November 12, the official ceremony of donation of 3D printers was held at the university, the 3D printers that were assembled by the Polytechnic university students who participated in the grant program “Creative Spark” funded by the British Council.

International cooperation and educational reforms pro-rector Sargis Asatryants, deputy director of college Lusine Poghosyan, deputy director of High school Khachik Manukyan, teaching staff representatives and students were present at the ceremony.

Pro-rector S.Asatryants has welcomed the guests and congratulated the students who participated in the program. Pro-rector, while showing high appreciation of the students’ creative work, also mentioned that Polytechnic High school and College are getting those 3D printers to later apply them in practical works. “These devices are not ordinary for us as we have not bought them but they have been assembled one by one by our students. I congratulate all the parties who created this device. I do welcome you and this is the first step in that path. I would welcome the fact that we will have greater results in our next endeavors,” – S.Asatryants pointed out. The pro-rector also mentioned the example of Southampton University that has devices and similar devices should be designed at our university so we should be aspired to develop them and this initiative should be the foundation on which it would be developed, S. Asatryants proposed this in his welcoming speech.

Arpine Mkrtchyan, employee at the department of International cooperation and grants programs has introduced the activities and objectives of the grant program “Creative Spark”, that aim at innovative and creative thinking, modern trends of business modeling and the spreading of terminology of that sphere in the context of higher education. Expressing gratitude to the members of the British council that finances the grant program “Creative Spark”, A. Mkrtchyan also pointed out that the “Creative Spark” program strives to develop, disseminate and invest entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial ideas within the framework of higher education and beyond. “We have a series of interesting events within the framework of the program, namely “How to start a business and start-up” in the form of no-fee course that targets students and participants of 44 day long war. It will be conducted from November 22 to 26,” – noted A. Mkrtchyan.

Movses Zakaryan, the employee at the innovation laboratory, introduced in a detailed manner the whole process of the assemblage of 3D printers and its peculiarities to all the participants of the event.

At the end of the ceremony, Sargis Asatryants donated 3D printers to deputy director of college Lusine Poghosyan and deputy director of High school Khachik Manukyan.
