On October 16-20, this year, the first Digital «UAV» International Forum 2019 of unmanned aerial vehicles will take place in Yerevan, on the basis of National Polytechnic University of Armenia and “Ayb” school, with the organizational support of Moscow Aviation Institute (national research university). 

Forum is carried out to create favorable conditions to attract and group the development and reinforcement of staff’s potential of scientific and educational organizations as well as in the sphere of science, technology and education of talented youth.

The forum plans to increase the status of young people working in the spheres of military industry and higher education institutions as well as to increase the reputation of engineers, researchers, scientific workers and lecturers of the HEIs. It will also incentivize the interest among students of schools and professional education institutions towards the professional activities of engineers and scientific and technical profession. 

The following three directions are included in the forum:

– A scientific conference, where modern scientific, technical and technological solutions in the sphere of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) will be introduced and discussed:

• To solve current practical solutions in the sphere of Unmanned Air Transport Hackathon;
• School education platform.

The scientific conference will be opened by the plenary session where famous scientists and experts in the sphere of UAV will hold speeches. The scientific conference will be followed by scientific lectures where students, young scientific workers, leading specialists of the sphere will introduce their works.

 Topics of the scientific conference are:

• Application of UAVs in different branches of economy taking into account geographic peculiarities of the Republic of Armenia;
•  Technology of artificial intelligence and their application to control UAVs;
• Application of UAVs in entertainment creation;
• Technical and legislative regulations of UAV applications.

The best reports will be published in the collection of separate articles. Hackathon is a 36-hour long event during which participants should create solutions for the cases offered by business partners of the forum and should introduce it in the form of prototypes to jury members for their assessment. All willing people can participate in Hackathon without age or any other restrictions. Teams involving minimum 2 and maximum 6 members can register for the participation. Individuals willing to participate can also submit their application to the Hachathon. Based on their application, they can join any team or establish their own teams with other participants.

Teams recognized by the jury as a winner in any nomination will be awarded with prizes.

Exhibition of scientific and technical projects created by schoolchildren, a masterclass “How to assemble an unmanned vehicle from the scratch” and presentation speeches from the lecturers of “School of drones” and participation of champions in the category of “UAV control” of Word Skills will be organized on the educational platform of the school. Both prototypes and ready models can participate in the exhibition. The official website of the forum is http://duav.org/.
