Book Presentation at the chair of Social Sciences

The presentation of the monograph “Strategy of the Republic of Armenia in Syunik and Artsakh 1918-1920” being the 7th book of the series of books authored by Hamlet Gevorgyan, doctor of History, professor, author of 15 historical monographs and more than 100 scientific papers took place at the chair of Social Sciences of NPUA on March 5, 2018.

Based on the analysis of materials highlighting the historical time period found in a number of historical works, rich original archived sources, the liberation struggle of Armenians of Syunik and Artsakh against the conquering policy of Azerbaijan who was widely assisted by Turkey till the end of the First World War of 1918-1920 are presented.

NPUA Rector V. Marukhyan, NPUA vice-rectors, head of the chair of Social sciences N. Baghdasaryan, social and political figures, representatives of the sphere of culture, journalists and lecturers were present at the presentation.

The Rector V. Marukhyan highlighted that this publication targeted the questions that were urgent both 100 years ago and nowadays. The rector welcomed the initiative of H. Gevorgyan and hoped that different scientific circles will really appreciate this monograph and wished the author good health and success.

The writer and publicist A. Shahbazyan pointed out the huge documentary base, bold analyses and assessments in the book. This monograph will contradict all the fake and false materials and publications that target to present the 1918-1920 cases in false light.

“Every individual after reading these documented materials will have no doubts on the real situation that has happened in 1918-1920” – assured the Doctor of History, Professor S. Sargsyan.

While speaking about the book, the associate professor at the chair of Russian L. Sargsyan added that it is a real message to young people: “You showed the new generation that our parents, even under hard conditions kept the ideas of freedom, tolerance, honesty, justice, patriotism and how to live well. The young people should be able to live taking into account the experience of our senior generation”.

Baghdasaryan finalized the event, expressing gratitude for the honest and educating work.
